Announcement of the Ministry of Construction on Issuing the National Standard "Code for Design and Design of Fire Extinguishers in Buildings"

The "Code for the Design of Fire Extinguisher Configuration" is now approved as the national standard, numbered GB 50140-2005, and will be implemented from October 1, 2005. Among them, sections 4.1.3, 4.2.1, 4.2.2, 4.2.3, 4.2.4, 4.2.5, 5.1.1, 5.1.5 , 5.2.1, 5.2.2, 6.1.1, 6.2.1, 6.2.2, 7.1.2, 7.1.3 are mandatory and must be strict carried out. The original GBJ 140-90 of the "Code for Design and Design of Building Fire Extinguishers" was abolished at the same time.
This specification is published by the China Planning Publishing House organized by the Standard Quota Research Institute of the Ministry of Construction.

Foreword

This code is based on the requirements of the Ministry of Construction Jianbiao [2001] No. 087 "Notice on Printing and Distributing the" 2000-2001 Project National Construction Standard Development and Revision Plan "Notice", and the Ministry of Public Security Shanghai Fire Research Institute It was prepared on the basis of a comprehensive revision of the 1997 edition of the original national standard "Code for Design and Design of Building Fire Extinguishers", GBJ 140-90, in conjunction with relevant units.
In the process of compiling this code, in-depth investigations and studies are conducted with reference to similar domestic and foreign codes, and it has repeatedly communicated with scientific research, design, construction, and use units. Based on extensive consultation, it has actively absorbed domestic and foreign building fire extinguisher configurations The mature experience of engineering design and application, combined with the actual situation of China's current stage of engineering, after repeated discussions, careful revision, and final review and finalization by relevant departments.
This specification is divided into 7 chapters, 13 sections and 6 appendices. The contents of this comprehensive revision mainly include:

The provisions in this code marked with bold type are mandatory and must be strictly implemented.
The Ministry of Construction is responsible for the management and interpretation of the compulsory provisions, the Fire Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for the daily management, and the Shanghai Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for the specific content interpretation.
