Announcement of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on the partial revision of the industry standard "Code for Design of Urban Road Engineering"

The partially revised provisions of CJJ 37-2012 of the Code for the Design of Urban Road Engineering are hereby approved, and the original provisions after the amendment are abolished simultaneously.
The partially revised provisions and specific content will be published on our website and the recently published "Engineering Construction Standardization" journal.

Revision description

This partial revision is based on the requirements of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's “Notice on Printing and Distributing the 2016 Construction and Construction Standards and Specifications” (Building Letter [2015] No. 274). The company, together with relevant units, amended the CJJ 37-2012 of the Code for Design of Urban Road Engineering.
This partial revision is based on the relevant requirements for urban roads made by sponge city construction, and the requirements for infiltration and storage of road divider and green belt width, road cross slope aspect, curb stone form, road pavement and green belt in the original provisions , Road rainwater removal principles and other corresponding amendments or supplementary regulations. There are 9 articles in this partial amendment. The main technical contents of the amendment are:
1. It supplements the requirements for the width of green belts or partitions when designing low-impact development facilities in road green belts or partitions, and the design requirements for various facilities.
2. Increase the type and layout of the standing edge stone.
3. Refinement of aspect regulations for road cross slopes.
4. According to the requirements of sponge city construction, supplement the principles and requirements of road rainwater low impact development and design.
5. According to the revised content of "Outdoor Drainage Design Code" GB 50014, the regulation of the recurrence period of storm intensity adopted for road drainage was adjusted.
6. Added requirements for planting in low impact development facilities.

Announcement on the release of the industry standard "Code for Design of Urban Road Engineering"

The "Code for Urban Road Engineering Design" is now approved as the industry standard, numbered CJJ 37-2012, and will be implemented from May 1, 2012. Among them, Articles 3.4.2, 3.4.3, and 13.3.4 are mandatory provisions and must be strictly implemented. The original industry standard "City Code for Urban Road Design" CJJ 37-90 was abolished at the same time.
This specification is published by China Construction Industry Press organized by the Standard Quota Research Institute of our Ministry.
