Announcement of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on the release of the national standard "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Low-Voltage Electrical Apparatus for Electrical Installations

The "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Low-Voltage Electrical Apparatus for Electrical Installation Installation Engineering" is now approved as the national standard, numbered GB 50254-2014, and will be implemented as of December 1, 2014. Among them, Articles 3.0.16 and 9.0.2 are mandatory provisions and must be strictly implemented. The original "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Low-Voltage Electrical Apparatus for Electrical Installations" GB 50254-96 was abolished at the same time.
This specification is published by the China Planning Publishing House organized by the Standard Quota Research Institute of our Ministry.

Foreword

This specification is based on the requirements of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's "Notice on Printing and Distributing of the" 2009 Construction and Construction Standard Specification Development and Revision Plan "" (Build Standard [2009] No. 88). The limited liability company, in conjunction with relevant units, amended on the basis of the original "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Low-Voltage Electrical Apparatus for Electrical Installation Engineering" GB 50254-96.
During the revision of this specification, the revision team conducted extensive investigations and studies, carefully summarized practical experience, and extensively solicited opinions, and finally reviewed and finalized it.
This specification is divided into 12 chapters and 4 appendices. The main contents include general rules, terms, basic provisions, low-voltage circuit breakers, switches, isolators, disconnectors and fuse combination appliances, residual current protectors, surge protectors, and low-voltage contacts. Devices, motor starters and inverters, control switches, low-voltage fuses, resistors, rheostats, electromagnets, testing, acceptance, etc.
Compared with the original specification, this revision mainly includes the following:
1. Added "Term" and "Experiment" sections.
2. Chapter 4 of the original specification, "Low Voltage Disconnect Switch, Knife Switch, Transfer Switch and Fuse Combination Appliance" was revised to "Switch, Isolator, Disconnect Switch and Fuse Combination Appliance".
3. Chapter 5 of the original code, "Residential appliances, leakage protectors and fire protection electrical equipment" was revised to "residual current protectors, surge protectors".
4. Chapter 6 "Low-voltage contactor and motor starter" in the original specification was revised to "Low-voltage contactor, motor starter and inverter".
5. Chapter 7 "Controller, Relay and Travel Switch" in the original specification was adjusted to "Control Switch".
6. Chapter 8 "Resistors and Rheostats" in the original specification and Chapter 9 "Electromagnets" are merged into Chapter 10 "Resistors, Rheostats, Electromagnets" of this specification.
7. Added "Appendix A Tightening Torque of Threaded Terminal Blocks", "Appendix B Limit Temperature Rise Values of Terminal Blocks", "Appendix C Limit Temperature Rise Values of Accessible Parts", "Appendix D Low-voltage Circuit Breaker Terminal Blocks and Easy Access Component temperature rise limit. "
The provisions marked in bold in this code are mandatory and must be strictly enforced.
