Announcement of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on the release of the industry standard "Technical Regulations for Steel Structures of High-rise Civil Buildings"

The "Technical Regulations for Steel Structures for High-rise Civil Buildings" is now approved as the industry standard, numbered JGJ 99-2015, and will be implemented as of May 1, 2016. Among them, Articles 3.6.1, 3.7.1, 3.7.3, 5.2.4, 5.3.1, 5.4.5, 6.1.5, 6.4.1 , 6.4.2, 6.4.3, 6.4.4, 7.5.2, 7.5.3, 8.8.1 are mandatory provisions and must be strictly implemented. The original "Technical Regulations for Steel Structures of High-rise Civil Buildings" JGJ 99-98 was abolished at the same time.
This regulation is published by the China Construction Industry Press organized by the Standard Quota Research Institute of our Ministry.

Foreword

According to the requirements of the “Notice on Printing and Distributing the Standard Development and Revision Plans for the Urban Construction and Construction Industry in 2004” (Build Standard [2004] No. 66) issued by the former Ministry of Construction, the formulating team has conducted extensive investigations and studies carefully. Summarized the engineering practical experience, with reference to relevant international standards and advanced foreign standards, and based on extensive consultations, revised the "Technical Regulations for Steel Structures for High-rise Civil Buildings" JGJ 99-98.
The main technical contents of this regulation are: General provisions; 2. Terms and symbols; 3. Basic requirements for structural design; 4. Materials; 5. Loads and effects; 6. Structural calculation analysis; 7. Design of steel members; 8. Connection design; 9. Production and painting; 10. Installation; 11. Fire resistant design.
The main contents of the revision of this regulation are: Revised the scope of application; 2. 2. Modified and supplemented the relevant regulations on structural planes and elevations; 3. Adjusted the maximum applicable height of some structures, added 7 degrees (0.15g), 8 degrees (0.3g) the maximum applicable height of buildings in seismic fortification zone; 4. Increased the lateral stiffness ratio of adjacent floors; Added provisions for seismic rating; 6. 6. Added basic methods for structural seismic performance design and basic requirements for continuous collapse resistance design; 7. 7. Added and revised the mechanical properties of high performance steel GJ steel and low alloy high strength structural steel; 7. Amended and supplemented the relevant content of wind load and earthquake action; 10. Increased the relevant regulations on the rigid-to-weight ratio of the structure; 11. Modified and supplemented the design requirements for the calculated length of the frame column and the limit value of the axial compression ratio of the frame tube column; 12. Added relevant regulations for outrigger trusses and waist trusses; 12. 13. Modified the connection coefficient of component connection strength; 14. Modified the calculation method, design regulations and structural requirements of beam-column rigid connection; 15. Revised the calculation rules for strong columns and weak beams, and added the formula for calculating the effective volume in the node domain of circular pipe columns and cross-section columns; 16. Modified the calculation method and design requirements of steel column feet; 17. Added reinforced beam-column connection and bone connection; 17. 18. Added relevant content on welding of beam web and column connecting plate; 18. 18. Added the regulations for the allowable deviation of steel plate shear wall and special-shaped columns; 19. Added content about component pre-assembly.
The provisions marked in bold in these regulations are compulsory and must be strictly implemented.
