Announcement of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on the release of the national standard "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Sprinkler Systems"

The "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Automatic Sprinkler Systems" is now approved as the national standard, numbered GB 50261-2017, and will be implemented as of January 1, 2018. Among them, Articles 3.2.7, 5.2.1, 5.2.2, 5.2.3, 6.1.1, 8.0.1 are mandatory provisions and must be strictly implemented. The original national standard "Code for Acceptance of Construction of Automatic Sprinkler Systems" GB 50261-2005 was abolished at the same time.
This specification is published by the China Planning Publishing House organized by the Standard Quota Research Institute of our Ministry.

Foreword

According to the requirements of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's "Notice on Printing and Distributing the" 2008 Construction Standards and Standards Development and Revision Plan (First Batch) "(Jianbiao [2008] No. 102), this code preparation team has conducted extensive investigations After conscientiously summing up practical experience, and on the basis of extensive consultation, the "Code for Construction and Acceptance of Automatic Sprinkler Systems" was revised to GB 50261-2005.
The main technical contents of this specification include: general rules, terms, basic provisions, installation and construction of water supply facilities, installation of pipe networks and system components, system pressure test and flushing, system commissioning, system acceptance, maintenance management, and related appendices.
The main contents of this revision are:
1. Added English catalog;
2. Increased installation requirements for early suppression fast response sprinklers (ESFR);
3. Added installation requirements for copper pipes, stainless steel pipes, coated steel pipes, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (PVC-C) pipes, and fire sprinkler hoses;
4. The requirements for setting the flow pressure detection device were revised;
5. Revised water filling time requirements for pipes in dry and pre-acting systems;
6. Revise the form of the appendix to make it more operable;
7. Added content of inspection methods for maintenance management;
8. Modify some inconvenient clauses in the specification;
9. The original Article 3.1.2 was cancelled and the compulsory provisions of the former 8.0.13 were changed to non-mandatory provisions;
10. Coordinated the relationship with other norms and standards.
The provisions marked in bold in this code are mandatory and must be strictly enforced.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is responsible for the management and interpretation of mandatory provisions, the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for daily management, and the Sichuan Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for the interpretation of specific technical content.
